College Station is home to the third largest public university, Texas A&M.  The excellence of this institution provides a positive environment for education in the city, right down to the elementary level.  One of Texas top 10 school districts, College Station Independent School District was named a "Blue Ribbon School District" by Expansion Management Magazine and Newsweek magazine listed A&M Consolidated High School as one of American's top 100 high schools.

The high academic achievement of Texas A&M University is now drawing large corporations into the area.  They are moving some of their operations to the College Station area in order to take advantage of the 12,000 annual graduates seeking jobs.  Not only are large corporations moving into the area, but entrepreneurs are also moving back into the area after seeing the world.  This is creating a diverse and cultural experience.

Texas A&M University also brings a nice addition into the arena of arts and entertainment, with the Opera and Performing Arts Society (OPAS), as well as exhibits year round at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

College Station also offers an array of outdoor activities if sitting indoors is of no interest to you.  There are parks, pools, walking trails, as well as outdoor youth programs.
